I’m real behind on all kinds of updates. I think I’m gonna try to blog at least twice month or once a week.
We’re a couple of weeks away from the NMG release. It’s kind of exciting before an album release because you don’t know what to expect. I’m not as nervous about this one as I was with Manifest Destiny because things get slightly easier the more you do. So of course I have to make it more difficult, by shooting my own video for it and then also combining it with the release of a feature film “5 days in the A”. The first single is “What’s Poppin” we’ve shot the majority of it I have to finish the rest when I get back from the show in New Orleans. Hopefully then I’ll be able to edit it and get it out by the 10th of September.
I’m excited about the Cutting Edge Music Business Conference in New Orleans, it’ll be my first conference and hopefully will put me on the path to SXSW, for those that know me that is one of my goals for next year. Back to this conference though its really a good opportunity to check out new orleans for the first time as well as go someplace I’ve never been. Plus I love out of town shows, they provide an opportunity for you to get unexpected feedback.
Some more great info I’m working on a script for an independent movie we’ll begin shooting next year. Another steep learning curve but we’re doing it.
I need to give you tour information because I didn’t update you on the show at “Numbers”. It started off on some bullshit we got there and then are informed that the sound man is not there so they have no mics, which is crazy in the first place, but the show manager was like we may have to do the show with no mic. No Mic? Its funny how she said that with a straigh face. I mean I’ve had bad sound before but thats nuts. For me thats a no go. So I told her I’d wait till they figured it out. Here is what figure it out means some how they rigged a mic from the ceiling so I’m on stage looking like michael buffer, but a show is a show and people paid good money to see a show. So you do it. All and all it was a good show. I’m always trying to figure out what we can do better or next, I think September is going to be a month I take off to try and get the video and movie stuff together and also look into a few other opportunities for the company.
As always growth and expansion is key. I’m also looking for management to help deal with alot of these situations, so if you know a good one please don’t hesitate to email me through the contact page. Either that or I’m going to have to get an assistant that desires to get into the business side. Who knows maybe I’ll have an update on that when I get back.
I think I’m going to try to blog everyday of the conference.
